Military Industry 57 years of history, committed to Security and Defense for Prosperity

The Military Industry has its origin in 1908, when the "National Workshop of Mechanical Arts" was organized under the Ministry of War. In 1954, given the demands of new structures and broader objectives, the MILITARY INDUSTRY was created as an autonomous entity; later as a State Industrial and Commercial Company, starting with its first business unit called the “José María Córdova” General Factory, for the manufacture of weapons and small-caliber ammunition for military use primarily. The “Santa Bárbara” Factory was born in 1955, as the second business unit with machinery and equipment for the manufacture of heavy artillery ammunition for the Military Forces, beginning operations in 1964. Finally, the Explosives Factory “ Antonio Ricaurte", was created in 1963 as a Public Limited Commercial Company and in 1968 it became the third business unit of the Military Industry.

Over the years, after industrial development, the three factories have expanded and diversified their production lines and services, with technological capacity for the manufacture of high quality products, a fact that allows them to be competitive in any market at any level. global.

During the last 8 years, Indumil achieved recognition as one of the most important companies in the country with international significance and recognition, aspects that materialize with obtaining the Colombian Award for Management Quality 2004, National Award for Excellence and Quality. in management 2010, Honorable Mention Ibero-American Quality Award 2007 and 2009.

In addition to the Certification and re-certification of the company's processes under the quality standards ISO 9001, NTCGP 1000, Environmental ISO 14001, Occupational Health and Safety OHSAS 18001.

Committed to research and development to promote science, technology and innovation projects of the Ministry of Defense, one of the engines of the innovation locomotive at the national level.

On the Fifty-seventh anniversary of the Military Industry, recognition is made to the personalities, institutions, entities and workers who have made INDUMIL a company with quality products, committed to sustainable energy, road development and national defense.

The “Honor of Merit” Medal is awarded to officials who, for meeting the requirements established in the statutes by agreement No. 469 of September 15, 2004, stood out for their outstanding performance of their duties in the following number:

Award for Initiative and Spirit of Creativity that is awarded annually with the aim of stimulating employees who contribute to the development of the Company and as an example of initiative and creativity oriented towards the best fulfillment of institutional objectives according to Agreement No. 0424 of April 11, 2000.

The selected projects were prepared by several workers, making it necessary that the prizes awarded must be distributed proportionally. Of the 19 projects, 9 projects were awarded, assigning first place 950 points, second place 920 points and third place 900 points.
