In a ceremony held today, Monday, November 23, at the Casa de Nariño, the President of the Republic, Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, in the company of the Director of Public Function, Liliana Caballero, presented the 2015 National Senior Management Award, which seeks to exalt to the public servant and his work, consolidate efficient public management at the service of citizens and increase trust in the State.
This year, the From Zero to Always strategy led by the National Government that seeks to combine the efforts of the public and private sectors, civil society organizations and the international cooperation in favor of Early Childhood in Colombia. The strategy is made up of the Presidential High Council for Early Childhood, the ministries of National Education, Culture and Health and Social Protection, the National Planning Department, DNP, and the Department for Social Prosperity, DPS, with its entities. affiliated companies, the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare – ICBF – and the National Agency for Overcoming Extreme Poverty, ANSPE.
To select the winners and those enrolled in Banco de Éxito, the juries carried out the evaluation under four criteria, which are: benefits or impact results, innovation, possibility of replication and sustainability over time. The main themes for this year were the Peace Policy, Equity and Education, Transparency and the Fight against Corruption, Human Rights and Citizen Service.
The evaluation committee for the National Senior Management Award remained anonymous while carrying out its work. Its members are autonomous and independent and are made up of people of recognized suitability, representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, the Academy and the Business Sector.
During the awards event, honorable mentions were also given to another 19 successful experiences, which together with the winners will be registered in the Public Administration Success Bank managed by Public Function.
They obtained honorable mention and were registered in the Bank of Successes:
- The Ministry of Culture, the National Agency for Overcoming Extreme Poverty ANSPE and the Victim Care and Reparation Unit with the National Music Plan for Coexistence and with Community-It's Art, Library and Culture: Collective Actions for Strengthening of the Social Fabric
- The Ministry of Education, with its Ser Pilo Paga strategy
- The Mayor's Office of Fusagasugá, Cundinamarca, with its project Discovering A New Horizon
- Indumil, with a Technical and Scientific Testing Field for Humanitarian Demining
- The Attorney General's Office, with Centers for Comprehensive Criminal Attention to Victims – CAPIV
- The Regional Autonomous Corporation of Boyacá, with the Eradication of Polluting Emissions for the Artisanal Sectors of Brick and Lime Production in the Sogamoso Valley, Boyacá
- The Mayor's Office of the municipality of El Retiro, Antioquia, with Innovative, Transparent and Participatory Management of the Development Plan.
The National Senior Management Award is the incentive par excellence for good institutional performance, through which the National Government annually recognizes organizations and entities that stand out for presenting successful experiences in priority aspects for the consolidation of the Colombian management model. This year, the Public Service received a total of 238 applications, of which 66 are national, 90 departmental and 82 municipal.
