At the event, the work of the Matamoros Corporation was highlighted
On July 14, the Minister of Defense, Rodrigo Rivera, the Vice Minister of the Social and Business Group GSED, Luis Guillermo Jaramillo Mejía, the senior military and Police officers, the Executive Director of the Gustavo Matamoros Corporation, Lorenza Panero, accompanied by the First Lady of the Nation, Maria Clemencia Rodríguez de Santos, presided this Thursday over the celebration of the International Day of Soldiers and Police Wounded in Combat.
During the ceremony that took place in the Monument Plaza to the Heroes of the Nation, Minister Rivera called on citizens not to forget the sacrifice of the men and women of the Public Force killed or injured in combat, in compliance of its mission to protect the Colombian people.
“All of them have written with blood and with great sacrifices, great feats, achievements and triumphs not only for our Military and Police Forces, but for all Colombians,” said the senior official.
The Minister of Defense, Rodrigo Rivera, also highlighted the work of the Gustavo Matamoros D'Costa Corporation, which is celebrating 25 years of operation in support of the rehabilitation and education of heroes wounded in combat as well as the widows and orphans of soldiers, Marines and police officers killed.
“Today, under the leadership of Maestro Lorenza Panero, the Matamoros Corporation has managed to successfully continue the programs to see its beneficiaries smile, whether it is the rehabilitation of their injuries or the achievements of achieving professional or technical preparation to be able to have better quality of life in their family and social ties, thus becoming an example of improvement,” said Rivera.
