General Alejandro Navas took over as manager of the Military Industry.

This Friday, September 1, the renowned General of the Army Alejandro Navas Ramos, took office as the new general manager of the Military Industry, in an event held in the office of the vice minister for the Social and Business Group of Defense, José Javier Pérez Mejia.

A lifetime at the service of the National Army and the country.

General Navas is a native of Montería, Córdoba. He entered the General José María Córdova Military Cadet School in 1972, where he achieved the rank of second lieutenant of the Infantry weapon in June 1976.
There have been many achievements of General Alejandro Navas in the nearly 40 years that he belonged to the institution. His vocation as a servant of the country has earned him various positions, in which he stood out as Commander of the Joint Special Operations Command, Commander of the Joint Task Force Omega, Commander of the Rapid Deployment Force, Director of the National Center for Training and General Commander of the Colombian Military Forces.

The effort, dedication and commitment of this man have been strengthened with each of the courses he has taken in his academic and military training, among which the courses stand out: Advanced Infantry, Military Parachuting, Regular Commando, Command Land, Rural Special Forces, Lancer, Human Rights and Conflict Resolution, Logistics, Globalization and Strategic Planning, Human Talent Management and Diploma in Environmental Planning.

General Alejandro Navas has received more than 50 decorations, both national and foreign. Among them, Antonio Nariño Order of Military Merit, in the Grand Officer category; Order of Boyacá, in the category of great Officer; José María Córdova Order of Military Merit, in the category of Grand Officer; Antonio Nariño Order of Military Merit, in the rank of commander, and the Distinguished Service Medal on six occasions.

He recently served as Colombia's ambassador to Argentina.

Among the challenges that await him in his position as the new manager of the Military Industry, is to continue the arduous work that the entity has developed, with the purpose of reaching new international markets, positioning its star products, such as the Córdova pistol. generation 3.0, rifle kits and other services and products that are part of Indumil's new portfolio, which aim to develop the national economy and strengthen the country's security.
