In the 8,000 square meters of the Corferias pavilion, a hundred exhibitors will exhibit products and services such as weapons, ammunition, armor, manned vehicles, drones and communication systems, explosives detection, anti-aircraft defense, protection and rescue, among others.
"In this fourth version we seek to strengthen technological development in Colombia and promote commercial exchange between the Armed Forces of different countries and companies that manufacture and provide products and services related to the security and defense sector," said the Director of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Defense, Juanita Rodríguez.
This year, representatives from 18 countries are expected to participate in this space organized by the Ministry of National Defense and Corferias, in alliance with the High Technology Corporation for Defense.
In the previous version, held in 2012, the fair had the participation of 46 Colombian and 54 foreign firms and some 6,000 visitors.
For Roberto Vergara, commercial director of Corferias, "Expodefensa is projected as the leading business platform in the sector in the Andean region, the Pacific Alliance, Central America and the Caribbean."
