On April 19, the Military Industry will hold the public hearing on Accountability and presentation of the Management Report for the previous period, an activity that for a few years has been an important part of the agenda of all state companies in the country.
But what is Accountability?
It is the responsibility of state organizations and public servants to inform and explain their actions and omissions to the general public. The purpose of this space for dialogue is to guarantee the exercise of social control in the administration, to project transparency and conditions of trust between rulers and citizens, in the review and monitoring of projects and action plans of government organizations.
Accountability mechanisms allow citizens and other interest groups (shareholders, clients, suppliers) to more easily obtain information about the management of public entities and their results, generating greater transparency, activating social control and at the same time allowing that administrations make better decisions and increase their effectiveness and legitimacy in management.
All Colombian citizens can participate in this exercise, without distinction of race, belief or sexual condition, exercising their right and duty as a citizen when evaluating the management of State entities.
To carry out this purpose, Indumil has a series of mechanisms that allow its target audiences to interact with the entity and learn all the information related to the execution of the organization's action plans, its projections, the behavior of the business lines and all those aspects that citizens want to know about the operation of the entity.
Other purposes of this important scenario that legitimize the relationship between the State and citizens are:
• Strengthen the sense of public
• Facilitate the exercise of social control in public management
• Contribute to the development of the constitutional principles of transparency, responsibility, effectiveness, efficiency and impartiality and citizen participation in the management of public resources.
• Constitute the strategy in a space for direct dialogue between public servants and citizens, transcending the scheme that this is only a passive recipient of management reports.
• Serve as input to adjust projects and action plans so that they respond to the needs and demands of the community.
