COLOMBIA PRESENTS MILITARY SOLUTIONS WITH HIGH SOCIAL IMPACT FOR THE CONTINENT

The Latin American Defense and Security Fair – LAAD, which will take place from April 4 to 8 in Brazil, is set to be one of the major events on the American continent. On this occasion, Cotecmar and Indumil, two industrial companies, which are part of the Defense Social and Business Group – GSED and have become a development benchmark for the Latin American military industry, will participate in Colombia with their technological offer.

This scenario constitutes an opportunity for companies that develop a very successful export vocation to present their portfolio of goods and services to clients from different latitudes and strengthen themselves competitively, when the goal is to reach new markets. For which, in this opportunity, we also have the leverage of ProColombia, as the main driver of the country's positioning in international arenas.

With participation in this exhibition, which brings together around 600 exhibiting companies, more than 190 official delegations and 37,000 specialized visitors, Cotecmar and Indumil will participate with the firm purpose of strengthening their positioning in the region as leaders in the security and safety sector. the defense

This, added to the geostrategic position and the suitability of the personnel who develop these differentiating processes, undoubtedly attract foreign investment," said General (RA) José Javier Pérez, Vice Minister for the Social and Business Group of Defense-GSED.

Cotecmar's innovation processes have led it to develop river solutions such as the Heavy River Support Patrol Boats – PAF-P, which have been tested in Colombian rivers and have become a solution for the needs of the continent. For Vice Admiral Jorge Enrique Carreño Moreno, participating in this type of events allows us to “continue strengthening relationships with Latin American navies interested in learning first-hand about the Colombian experience in the development of innovative naval products, such as the Logistics Support Vessels and Cabotage, one of them recently sold to Honduras, the Coastal Patrol Vessels – CPV, of Colombian design, and the Fluvial Pusher, a solution for shallow draft rivers. And other types of boats that generate social impact in sectors such as health, education and commerce through the continent's rivers.”

For its part, Indumil will be present with its offer of products developed based on innovation processes, technological transfers and research, which have allowed it to become a strategic ally of the Colombian Armed Forces and a true engine of development for the country. «being able to show the productive capacity of companies in the sector in this type of scenarios is definitely the right step to consolidate themselves as leaders of the defense industry in Latin America. For this reason, Indumil's commercial and industrial activity has expanded to many other sectors of the national economy, simultaneously seeking our consolidation in international markets. For this year, it is estimated to export more than 14 million dollars, destined for three different continents, explained Colonel Juan Manuel Padilla Cepeda, General Manager of Indumil.

During the four days of the fair, business opportunities will be capitalized to, in addition to achieving international sales and commercial relationships, generate high-impact cooperation agreements for the region, which can be led by Colombia through these companies.
