Collaboration with Machining Tool Suppliers · New Initiative

Dear Machining Tool Suppliers

The Military Industry invites you to participate in the supply of specialized tools for the development of a new manufacturing process. We look for reliable partners who can provide high quality and precision tools to meet our specific needs.

In order to assess the suitability of your tools, we require samples with no commercial value for testing and trials that will contribute to the development of this process. These samples will allow us to determine whether your tools meet the established standards and requirements.

If your company has experience in supplying machining tools and wishes to be part of this innovative project, please note that the following must be considered when carrying out the tests:

  1. Provide technical documentation for each tool detailing the following:
  • Reference
  • Dimensions
  • Materials
  • Coatings
  • Cutting conditions

This documentation must be delivered in physical form to the central offices of Indumil Calle 44 N° 54 – 11 CAN to the officials of the Innovation Directorate Ivan Darío Sierra Pinilla and/or Luis Carlos Galán Rubiano, from August 15, 2024 to August 28, 2024 during the time slot from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

  1. Once the information provided has been analysed, the results obtained will be published on the website, so that each bidder can submit samples without commercial value, which will be subject to corresponding tests and trials.
  2. The tests will be carried out with the first supplier to provide the complete tool package. For the other suppliers interested in participating, the Military Industry will receive the tool package with the proviso that these will be entered as samples for approval.
  3. Those interested in participating must provide technical support for the development of the tests at the facilities of the General Jose Maria Córdova Factory – Fagecor
  4. A minimum of 2 units must be supplied per tool reference.
  5. For tools that require special mounting, at least one (1) tool holder must be supplied.
  6. Only complete tool packages are supported.
  7. If any of the supplied references fail, a third sample will be requested. If this fails again, the next supplier's tool will be used to complete the testing stage and will be validated in accordance with the protocols carried out.
  8. Once the testing phase is complete, the first tool that meets the needs established by the process will be considered as the most productive for future approval processes.

We thank you in advance for your interest and look forward to your participation in this new project.
