The Ministry of National Defense of Colombia contemplates in its strategic plans that the companies of the Defense Social and Business Group -GSED- consolidate themselves as suppliers of products and services for the national and international defense sector, therefore they promote their massive participation in the fairs held in Colombia, such as F-Air, Expodefensa and Colombiamar, and we also try to be present at the most important security and defense fairs in the world.
For Indumil, Colonel (RA) Juan Manuel Padilla Cepeda, General Manager, Colonel (RA) Nestor Raúl Espítia Ribero, commercial assistant manager, and Mrs. Daniela Muñoz, professional of the company's export line, are there. This team has the mission of publicizing the latest technological advances of the Colombian Military Industry, such as the Córdova Pistol, different models of revolvers, rifles, machine guns, grenade launchers, mortars, hand grenades, underwater charges, ammunition, military material practice, demining equipment, aviation bombs, among many other products that mostly have the “combat tested” seal.
The developments that Indumil offers to the world are a product of the internal conflict that the Colombian State has had to face for decades, containing the narco-terrorist threat. The Colombian Military and Police Forces have been Indumil's main client, however, after the upcoming peace agreement, the post-conflict will bring a consequence that, while positive for the country, compromises the company's finances, since consumption of weapons and ammunition of the Armed Forces. and the Police will fall as the intensity of the conflict significantly decreases. For this reason, Indumil is on a crusade to make all its strengths known to the world, seeking to become an important player in the global market for military, police and sports weapons and equipment. The future of the company is in foreign sales. In the company's Operational Plan for 2016, Indumil is expected to obtain 92,482 million pesos in export income this year.
At another Eurosatory stand, but with a similar mission, is the Director of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Defense, Catalina Puerta Hoyos, who in addition to presenting to the world a broader set of scientific and technological advances developed in Colombia by or for the Military Forces of our country, is also presenting the Expodefensa 2017 fair to be held next year in Bogotá, from December 4 to 6. She is accompanied by professional Ada Luz Sandoval, also from the CTi Directorate.
Today we have a team of athletes playing in the Copa América, which we all support, but we also have a team of professionals in Paris, representing all the men and women who, from the laboratories, workshops, and design tables, have made it possible for our country to advance in science and technology for the defense sector.
