The Minister of Defense, Luis Carlos Villegas, accompanied by the Vice Minister of Defense for the Gsed, General (RA) Javier Pérez, installed Admiral Hernando Wills in his office, as the new manager of Indumil, one of the 18 companies that make up the Social Group and Defense Business – GSED.
Admiral Wills was born in the well-known Heroic City, Cartagena de Indias. He entered the “Almirante Padilla” Naval School in 1976, where he graduated as Lieutenant of Lieutenant.
During his professional career, he trained as a Naval Engineer with a specialty in Electronics and a Naval Sciences professional. In addition to his career courses, he has received the titles of Master in Management Administration, Master in Defense and National Security, and Master in Strategic Security Studies.
With more than 40 years of service to the country, Admiral Wills has held positions including: Commander of the National Navy, Commander in Chief of the Caribbean Naval Force and Commander of the Pacific Naval Force; Director of the ARC “Barranquilla” Naval Non-Commissioned Officer School, Deputy Director of the Higher War School, Naval Aide-de-Camp to the President of the Republic, Deputy Chief of the Combat Systems Department of the USS “BOWEN” Frigate of the United States Navy , among others.
Likewise, he has been awarded several national and international decorations, such as the Almirante Padilla Order of Naval Merit, Antonio Nariño Military Merit and José María Córdova, the 30 years of service medal and the Distinguished Services in Public Order medal. ; and honorary member of the Bolivarian Society of the Atlantic designated by the Colombian Association of Sectional Journalists of the Atlantic as Person of the Year of the Department in 2004.
Admiral Wills emphasizes that “The confidence they have given him to manage a solid, organized and important company at a national level like Indumil is the way to continue with professional work and a new strategic review for the development of the company.”.
