Scientists come together to support technology projects that strengthen the work of Humanitarian Demining

COMITE

With the purpose of forming a bank of scientific projects of experts on the subject at a national and international level that support and strengthen the interventions in the territory carried out by the Directorate for Comprehensive Action against Antipersonnel Mines (DAICMA), a Scientific Committee is formed and Technical in which professionals specialized in areas such as electrical engineering, physics and biology participate.

Likewise, research groups from universities, institutions and private sector companies that have a track record of more than five years developing projects of interest for the strengthening of Humanitarian Demining are invited to participate in this scenario. These proposals will be evaluated by the Committee and, according to its criteria, financial support and scientific advice will be provided.

These meetings are coordinated by the National University of Colombia, which makes all academic, scientific, technical and operational support available to DAICMA for the development of the Committee.

Some of the groups that have been invited to present their efforts to the committee belong to entities such as:

  • National university of Colombia
  • Javeriana university
  • University of the Andes
  • Militar University of New Granada
  • National Natural Parks of Colombia
  • Colombian Military Industry (INDUMIL)
