The OPCW – Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, winner of the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize, has one mission: to eliminate all types of chemical weapons throughout the world. Its main task is to ensure that all existing chemical weapons are destroyed and to ensure that no more are ever produced.
To meet the objectives of this Organization in Colombia, the National Authority for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons was created, whose Technical Secretariat is exercised by INDUMIL.
Its tasks include consolidating and submitting to the OPCW the Annual Declarations by Colombia, monitoring the OPCW Inspections of the national chemical industry, monitoring the activities of the chemical industry and verifying the transactions of chemical substances listed by the OPCW.
